Wash yo'self (part one of all things soap!)

During the quarantine and now 18ish months of working from home, I will be perfectly honest, my hygiene has ebbed and flowed, from using a shower as a self-care more than once a day, to the let's see how long we can go without washing our hair vibe. As I started going out into the world again and getting to hug my friends again, I realized I needed to get back to refresh my self-care routine! Sharing all my resources starting with the good ol' armpits!

As someone who has struggled with the backlash of baking soda in natural deodorants with painful rashes, but is hell-bent on not going back to the scary stuff, it has been a journey to keep my pits happy and smelling good. Being home allowed me to take days off from irritating products, and while that was great, I needed a long-term solution. While I am normally all for one-stop-shop products, I have found FOUR must-have products to create happy, healthy armpits. If you have struggled with similar issues, keep reading!

First, natural deodorants tend to work best when you rotate varieties. 90% of the time I use Hume supernatural deodorant and love it. I have both of their {natural} scents and use them both. For the other 10% when I need to switch it up, I use Kosas Chemistry deodorant which has AHA. Hume has probiotics which has a natural deodorizing element and they have NEVER irritated or made my armpits feel burnt or rashy. Plus, they are one of the few deodorants that is clear and don't leave marks all over your clothes. I can't say enough.

Second, I found the brand MegaBabe. I am now using their Space Bar underarm soap and Happy Pits detoxifying armpit mask. Stick with me, I know this sounds like an extravagant process for armpits but the difference is astounding. Regular soap never worked well on removing the old deodorant smell for me, and then it would feel like I was putting deodorant on a not-so-fresh and clean surface. I use the soap every shower and the mask about once a week. I keep the soap right outside my shower on a soap saver to keep it from getting congealed with my shower walls. :)

Stay tuned for the next soap-themeded post as I tackle all my favorite ways to clean my body and my home!

P.S. All of these opinions are my own and I bought all of these products with my own cash while trying to figure out how to make my armpits smell lovely. I love testing products, sharing, and making recommendations. If you decide to try Hume supernatural, you can use the code (FRIEND-R3TP29H) for 20% off your products and I will receive a small discount on my next order if you do!
